The Dark Goddess is inspired by the powerful, transformative, ferocious goddesses of the ancient world. I’ve been particularly inspired by Innana, the Sumerian goddess of war, sensuality, and fertility. The myth of her descent in to the underworld and subsequent resurrection has influenced rituals that have helped me work through trauma and sink deeper in to myself.
The Dark Goddess is scented with precious sandalwood, divining smoke, frankincense and honey, dressed with dirt and hand pestled frankincense and crowned with a lapis lazuli stone. Let this candle inspire you to connect with your shadow, confront buried truths and honor yourself.
