Satanic Self-Care Summer Recipe

This dish is magical in many ways. It brings out the best of any satanic alphabet and melds  those words into a blended ritual you can never forget. However this dish isn’t just something  you can eat seasonally, where you can find a watermelon, you can enjoy this deliciousness at once.  

To make this alchemy happen you will need the following.  

  • 1 small watermelon  

  • 1 lemon 

  • 1 tablespoon of Yuzu juice  

  • A zester  

  • 4 oz of salmon  

  • Salt 

  • Pitted kalamata olives 

  • 1 bunch of cilantro  

  • Olive oil  

  • 1 shallot 

Using these simple ingredients, take your watermelon, cut the tips off and using your knife take  off all the skins.  

Your watermelon should weigh about a pound diced.  

Using your knife, take the watermelon and slice them about 1/2 inch thick across. Then using your knife small dice them.  

Put the watermelon into a bowl.  

Taking your knife, cut each olive in half and then quarter the half’s. Put them into the bowl with the rest of the fruit.  

Brunoise a shallot and put that in the bowl. Make sure you take the outer coating off so it is easier to chew.  

Dice up your cilantro and add it to the bowl.  

Grab one lemon and zest it into the bowl  

Taking your yuzu and the juice of one lemon add that to your mix.  

Follow that by adding salt and a couple tablespoons of olive oil to taste and for texture. That could range from a tablespoon to two tablespoons.  

Marinade your ingredients for about one hour and chill.  

Taking the skin side of the salmon, season it with a little salt.  

Grab a hot pan and make sure it’s smoking. This will keep the salmon from sticking. 

Skin side down place your salmon in the pan. Cook it for a couple minutes till the skin side is brown and crispy. Flip it and add butter. Bake it in the oven at 375 for 6 minutes. Take your  fish out and rest it.  

Place your salsa on the bottom of a plate, follow this by placing your salmon on top. The acid, the sweetness, the sour, the salt and butter should give it a unique umami flavor.
